FREE Book Friday- The Dark Side of Charles Darwin

by kgumm on February 10, 2012

February 13-17 has been declared “Darwin Week” by atheists and freethinkers, as they refer to themselves. One college campus in particular has really taken to the festivities by arranging speakers and events based around Darwin’s birthday.

We would like to offer a title published by Master Books during this free book Friday, called The Dark Side of Charles Darwin by Dr. Jerry Bergman. We will give away 3 copies of this book to 3 randomly selected winners.

Did you know Darwin was a darkly troubled man, struggling with physical and mental health issues? That he was racist, and abused animals? He also believed that women were less evolved than men. From this title you will hear firsthand from his family and friends about his true character and many more examples of the dark and troubled life he lived without accepting Jesus as his savior. He was even noted saying he felt peace and comfort throughout the short days of his faith in God, then never felt the same feelings once he turned his back on God and his faith.

To win:
-In the comments section of this post, tell us why you believe in creation vs evolution.
-Also, share the trailer below via Facebook and/or Twitter using a link or embed code, click here

Winners will be selected and announced at 4:30 pm CT here in the comments section. Please spread the word and good luck!

Creation – I believe, because the Bible tells me so!

God created everything in the first days. It was written out in the bible so we knew that God had a plan for everything.

There cannot be laws without a Lawgiver and there cannot be information without Intelligence. The Big Bang would have order evolving from disorder, defying another law. Organic evolution is based on gaps in the fossil record, not the fossils themselves…..The heavens declare the glory of God….and so much more.

I believe in creation because it’s obvious that nothing builds itself. It never has, and it never will.

looking around the world how can anyone think we *evolved* from primordial soup? Just look at the amazing human boday, every part in there has a purpose, to think that we evolved into this is just mind blowing. Creation all the way for me.

I believe in Creation vs. evolution for reasons more numerous than the number of years evolution claims the earth is old! My favorite rebuttle is that science actually CONFIRMS the Bible. There have been *thousands* of archaeological digs with the sole purpose of disproving the Bible and ALL of them–not some–have confirmed the truths of the Bible. Not to mention the fact that the Bible is historically accurate, documented by EYEWITNESSES and we can go to the places described in the Bible today. There is no reason to even contemplate evolution as being factual!

I believe God created everything because that is what God reveals to us in Scripture and it is consistent with what He reveals to us in the creation itself.

The heavens declare the glory of God; everywhere I look His hand is everywhere.

I believe that God is the creator because there is no way that all of the wonderful things around us, including us came from a big boom. The earth, everything in it, space, us are all too wonderful an magnificent!

I believe in Creation vs. Evolution for several reasons- 1. The Bible states it as a truth. 2. In my heart it feels right 3. If we are here exclusively because of evolution, why aren’t we still evolving and why don’t we see other animals evolving?

I believe in Creation vs evolution, because the Bible is very clear that God created the earth and all that is in it in 6 days. The Bible says evening and morning were the first day, etc. This is not millions of years. Also there was not death before sin, so evolution is not consistent with the biblical perspective. Thirdly, the evidence points to a young earth, a worldwide flood, etc which is consistent with the Bible.

Anyone who truly looks at nature must marvel at its wonder. To believe all that we see came about by chance and accident requires more faith than my belief in God as its creator.

I believe in Creation because it’s true.

I believe in creation because it is grounded in the word of God and in science. To me, it takes more faith to believe evolution than creationism.
