Dispel the Doubt: Eternity is Too Long to be Wrong!

Hell is for Real_blog

Writers are always asked, “What inspired you to write this book? What were you hoping to accomplish?” That was no different with this, my latest book and so I thought I’d share that with you all today.

Hell is for Real was written because I am deeply concerned about the present culture in America that seems to have adopted the attitude that everyone who dies goes to heaven. Many Americans, especially the Boomers, Busters, Mosaics, Millennials and of course the Gen-Xers, have bought into the idea that only Hitler, Stalin and other notorious murderers go to Hell. The rest of us, since we are really not too bad, go to Heaven.

To me and a number of others to whom I have spoken, this seemed to be the underlying message of the book and movie, Heaven is for Real, read and viewed by millions of Americans who grab anything that supports their universalistic view of the afterlife.

The problem is they fail to understand a very foundational fact: this is not true, it is a lie! How can I be so blunt about this you ask? Because there is but one reliable source concerning what happens when a person dies, the Word of God! The Bible records the words of the God-man, Jesus Christ who spoke about Hell and eternal judgment more than He spoke about any other thing. Of the 1850 verses of Holy Writ recorded as the actual words of Jesus, 13% deal with Hell and pending judgment.

HIFR_blogSo, if we are seriously interested in knowing what happens when we die we must look to the Word of God and accept the truth taught by Christ. What does Christ say? The most precise words are found in Luke 16: 19-31 where Jesus presents a contrast between a Rich man and a beggar, both of which died. Why, because the Bible says in Hebrews 9:27, it is appointed unto man once to die and after that the judgment. In1 Corinthians 15:22 the Apostle Paul declares, For in Adam all die... In other words every living person has a date with deity! This rich man goes to Hell while the poor beggar goes to Heaven. The rich man is in a state of eternal torment while the poor man is in eternal tranquility. There could not be a more poignant contrast.

Hell is for Real is a simple, easy read that conveys real truth about the most serious subject, eternity, and where you will spend it. The choice is yours. Oh and by the way, just in case you think a loving God would never send someone to Hell, you are right! Every human being has the privilege of choice. The only ones who go to Hell are the ones who choose to ignore God’s greatest offer of forgiveness found in Jesus Christ death, burial and resurrection.

You only get one chance.  Choose wisely!

Don’t be satisfied with less than the whole truth.
