Rick Boyer – Author

Rick Boyer and his wife Marilyn are among the early trailblazers of the homeschooling movement. Building on their own experience in training their own 14 children at home since 1980, Rick and Marilyn have written several popular books on homeschooling, Christian parenting and national reformation. The Boyers are also creators of Character Concepts Curriculum. Rick’s books include Home Educating with Confidence, Take Back the Land, The Socialization Trap and The Hands-on Dad.  To home schooling parents, Rick Boyer is an author, speaker and  home school pioneer who draws from over thirty years of experience with his own children.  To home schooled kids, Rick is “Uncle Rick,” whose audio recordings take Scripture, history and adventure stories and turn them into delightful and life-changing character lessons.  Rick presents biblical truth with homespun wisdom and side-splitting humor, along with (sometimes) period costumes to make his live presentations even more fascinating. Learn more from Rick and Marilyn Boyer in their daily blog or you can stay up to date on the latest in character building materials for children in the Character Concepts online store.

Dr. Carl Werner – Author

Dr. Carl Werner is the executive producer for the television series Evolution: The Grand Experiment (IMDB) and a science researcher when he is not tending to emergency room patients as a physician in St. Louis, Missouri. Some are surprised to learn that a physician is involved in the research of evolution, but Dr. Werner counters that stating, “Physicians, such as August Weismann, Francesco Redi, Robert Broom, Carl Linnaeus, Davidson Black, Raymond Dart, and Eugene Dubois have had a long tradition of being involved in the study of evolution because of their biological training. In fact, some of the biggest contributions were made by physicians.”

Dr. Carl Werner received his undergraduate degree in biology with distinction at the University of Missouri, graduating summa cum laude. He received his doctorate degree in medicine at the age of 23.
