Dispel the Doubt: Eternity is Too Long to be Wrong!

Hell is for Real_blog

Writers are always asked, “What inspired you to write this book? What were you hoping to accomplish?” That was no different with this, my latest book and so I thought I’d share that with you all today.

Hell is for Real was written because I am deeply concerned about the present culture in America that seems to have adopted the attitude that everyone who dies goes to heaven. Many Americans, especially the Boomers, Busters, Mosaics, Millennials and of course the Gen-Xers, have bought into the idea that only Hitler, Stalin and other notorious murderers go to Hell. The rest of us, since we are really not too bad, go to Heaven.

To me and a number of others to whom I have spoken, this seemed to be the underlying message of the book and movie, Heaven is for Real, read and viewed by millions of Americans who grab anything that supports their universalistic view of the afterlife. Continue Reading →

Days to Remember: The Pilgrims

DTR_Pilgrims1

“Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia” (1 Pet. 1:1).

These “strangers” to whom Peter wrote his two epistles were actually “pilgrims.” He used the same Greek word (parepidemos) in 1 Peter 2:11: “Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts.” The word means a resident foreigner, and its only other New Testament usage is in Hebrews 11:13, speaking of the ancient patriarchs, who “confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.”

DTR_Pilgrims3We give honor on Thanksgiving Day to the American “pilgrims,” as they called themselves (thinking of these very verses), who left their homelands in order better to serve God in a foreign land. The “pilgrims” to whom Peter was writing likewise had been “scattered abroad” for their faith (note Acts 8:4).

For that matter, every born-again believer in the Lord Jesus Christ is really just a pilgrim here on earth, ambassadors for Christ in a foreign land. “For our conversation is in heaven” (Phil. 3:20). That is, we are citizens of heaven (the Greek word translated “conversation” in this verse is politeuma, meaning “a community” or “citizenship”), and are here only for a time to serve our Lord until He calls us home.

While we are here, we may endure many trials and sorrows, just as did those Massachusetts pilgrims, but He nevertheless supplies our needs — just as He did for them — and we ought to abound in thanksgiving, as they did. Continue Reading →

Jesus Unmasked

Proof: The Bible is Supernatural

If someone claimed that the Declaration of Independence is a brilliant document, all we need to do is study the Declaration itself to draw our own conclusion. Similarly, all we need to do is read the pages of the Bible to determine if it is indeed supernatural.

The New Testament claims that the Old Testament is loaded with fuzzy pictures that are actually pictures of Jesus Christ.

  • jesus unmaskedJesus is the Ark
  • Jesus is the Door
  • Jesus is the Water
  • Jesus is the Bread
  • Jesus is the Bronze Serpent
  • Jesus is Tabernacle
  • Jesus is the Sabbath
  • Jesus is 7 Festivals
  • Jesus is the I AM

Jesus Unmasked reveals over thirty Old Testament stories that point to Jesus Christ Himself. What were once shadowy pictures of redemption in the Old Testament became a Technicolor reality when Jesus Christ was born.Prepare to meet Jesus in the Old Testament. Prepare to take a whirlwind tour through the Bible and see the perfect, brilliant harmony that proves, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that God wrote a book. Only God could write one story through dozens of authors over thousands of years about one man without a single contradiction. Jesus Unmasked proves that God wrote a book and you can stake your eternity on it.

Maybe you’ve never been a part of the Catholic Church and are not really sure how this affects your life. Take a moment to read from the passage below about things really were in Luther’s day for all church-goers.  See the world as it had become before he took a stand against the sinful predatory practices that the church had come to stand for… Before the release of his 95 Theses, a document that forced people toreconsider everything they knew and practiced and to begin to once again recognize the blood sacrifice that Christ made for us all.
