Creation Sunday: February 11, 2015
Charles Darwin—born more than two-hundred years ago on February 12th 1809… and yet the ripple effect of his poisonous ideas is still being felt across the globe. 2015 marks the tenth anniversary of the institution of Evolution Sunday, an annual event celebrated on the Sunday closest to Darwin’s birthday. The event was created by Michael Zimmerman who saw it as a way to convince Christians that Evolution didn’t have to conflict with Christianity—that the two could coexist in peace.
Just one year later, in 2006, a website went up with an open letter stating as much, prompting pastors, priests, and other clergy members to sign their names and show their agreement. To date, more than twelve thousand have signed the agreement.
The problem in all of this is that Zimmerman was an atheist. One can safely conclude that maintaining the solid foundation of Christian faith was never his intention. Continue Reading →
